The Story

The Damask rose is a flower already cultivated and celebrated in Persia and nicknamed "the empire of roses". It originates from Syria and shares with the country the name of its capital: Damascus where it was cultivated in the gardens. The physician Avicenna was the first to distill it and use it in pharmaceutical preparations in the 11th century. The crusaders in turn brought the Damascus rose to Europe. In France, it was not long before it was used to make ointments for the skin.

Frequently asked questions

1- I would like to order a rose balm, but there are two different jars with the same name on your website, can you explain the difference between the two?

There is the rosewood balm and the rose balm ;-) The rosewood balm is more for dry hair care. Our hairdressers use the rosewood balm to treat the hair after detoxifying it with the three clays shampoo. You can also use the rosewood balm as a deep treatment for colored hair or hair weakened by UV or sea water.

How long do you recommend for a rose hair mask?

Our hairdressers recommend leaving it on for at least 30 minutes. To get all the benefits of the rose balm, you will put your hair under a Biocoiff' heating cap. This is a good alternative to putting your hair under a heated helmet in the salon.

For the thin hair, do you advise the rose balm ?

We recommend jasmine balm instead.

5- I was wondering if it is recommended to apply the rose balm when exposed to the sun?

No, you can leave the Biocoiff' balms on your hair exposed to the sun. Even if their SPI (Sun Protection Factor) are low, they provide your hair with UV protection. But, we recommend that you Wrap your hair in a heated hair wrap so you can tan and read in peace.
