What is Tie and Dye?
The Tie and Dye is a technique of coloring called "bicolour" which aims to colour only a part of the hair (from mid-length to tips, but this can vary) and to keep a natural color from the root to mid-length.
The desired effect is that of a sort of horizontal highlight , with several colour variations (some have even tried fluorescent blue!)
Why does it damage hair?
The Tie and Dye is intended to lighten a part of the scalp, but on the contrary, it damages it since it necessarily contains chemicals which, in the short or long term, will deteriorate the quality of the hair by opening the scales (an operation necessary for bleaching) and by injecting an artificialcoloring .
As a result, the products generally used for this type of technique are the most concentrated in chemical substances and their intensity is maximum.
Tie and Dye, worse than a classic coloring ?
One of the problems with Tie and Dye is that it artificially colours and damages the most fragile, dry and needy part of the hair.
Indeed, the Tie and Dye is applied from mid-length (or more) to tips.
It is this part of the scalp that is most sensitive to stress, diet and time, and which needs to be nourished (with balms, conditioners etc.).
